Imutrex 2.5mg Methotrexate 2.5mg Tablets are a medication used to treat:
- Rheumatoid arthritis (a condition characterized by inflammation and pain in the joints)
- Psoriasis (a condition characterized by red, scaly patches on the skin)
- Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (a condition characterized by inflammation and pain in the joints)
- Polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (a condition characterized by inflammation and pain in multiple joints)
Composition: Each tablet of Imutrex contains 2.5mg of Methotrexate (an active pharmaceutical ingredient), which is a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD).
Mechanism of Action: Methotrexate works by:
- Inhibiting the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase, which is necessary for the production of tetrahydrofolate
