Crotorax HC is a topical cream that combines hydrocortisone and crotamiton to provide relief from itching, inflammation, and pruritus associated with various skin conditions.
Composition:
- Hydrocortisone (1% w/w): a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and itching
- Crotamiton (10% w/w): an antipruritic and anti-inflammatory agent that helps to relieve itching and reduce inflammation
Mechanism of Action: Hydrocortisone works by reducing the production of inflammatory chemicals in the skin, which helps to alleviate inflammation and itching. Crotamiton, on the other hand, works by blocking the release of histamine, a chemical that causes itching, and also has anti-inflammatory properties.
Usage: Crotorax HC is indicated for the treatment of: + Skin allergies and reactions + Insect bites and stings + Contact dermatitis + Eczema + Psoriasis + Dermatitis + Pruritus
Dosage: Apply a thin layer of Crotorax HC to the affected area up to 4 times a day, or as directed by your doctor.
Recommendation: Crotorax HC should be used for short periods of time (up to 7-10 days) due to the risk of skin atrophy and adrenal suppression. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
Important Note:
- Avoid using Crotorax HC on broken or irritated skin.
