ADILAN is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) containing Diclofenac Sodium. It is available in oral tablet and injectable forms for managing pain, inflammation, and fever.
Composition
Tablet Form:

Active Ingredient:Â Diclofenac Sodium (50 mg or 100 mg per tablet).

Excipients:Â Microcrystalline cellulose, lactose, magnesium stearate.
Injection Form:

Active Ingredient:Â Diclofenac Sodium (75 mg/mL in 3 mL ampoule).

Excipients:Â Benzyl alcohol, mannitol, sodium metabisulfite.
Mechanism of Action

Inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 & COX-2), reducing prostaglandin synthesis.

Anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic effects.

Stronger COX-2 inhibition (reduces inflammation with moderate GI side effects).
Dosage & Administration
Oral (Tablets):

Adults:

50 mg 2–3 times daily (max 150 mg/day).

Sustained-release:Â 100 mg once daily.

Children (>1 year): 1–2 mg/kg/day in divided doses.
Injection (IM only, not IV):
-
75 mg once daily (deep IM, alternate gluteal sites).

Max duration:Â 2 days (switch to oral therapy).
Topical Gel (if applicable):

Apply 3–4 times daily on affected area.
Uses (Indications)
✔ Osteoarthritis & Rheumatoid arthritis.
✔ Acute musculoskeletal pain (sprains, backache).
✔ Postoperative pain & dental pain.
✔ Migraine attacks (oral/injection).
✔ Dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps).

Tablets: Below 30°C, protect from moisture.

Injection: Store at 20–25°C; protect from light.

Recommendations
✔ Take with food/milk to reduce GI irritation.
✔ Avoid alcohol and other NSAIDs (increases ulcer risk).
✔ Monitor renal function in long-term use.
✔ Not for CV patients (increases heart attack/stroke risk).

Lithium: ↑ Toxicity (monitor levels).

Breastfeeding:Â Small amounts excreted (use lowest dose).
