Imutrex 2.5mg Methotrexate 2.5mg Tablets are a medication used to treat:

• Rheumatoid arthritis (a condition characterized by inflammation and pain in the joints)
• Psoriasis (a condition characterized by red, scaly patches on the skin)
• Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (a condition characterized by inflammation and pain in the joints)
• Polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis (a condition characterized by inflammation and pain in multiple joints)

Composition: Each tablet of Imutrex contains 2.5mg of Methotrexate (an active pharmaceutical ingredient), which is a disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD).

Mechanism of Action: Methotrexate works by:

• Inhibiting the enzyme dihydrofolate reductase, which is necessary for the production of tetrahydrofolate
• Reducing the production of tetrahydrofolate, which is essential for the synthesis of purines and thymidylate

• Patients with a history of kidney disease or other medical conditions that may affect their ability to respond to treatment should be closely monitored while taking Imutrex.

• Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult their healthcare provider before taking Imutrex.
• Patients with a history of gastrointestinal problems, such as dyspepsia or gastritis, should be monitored while taking Imutrex.
• Patients with a history of liver disease should be closely monitored while taking Imutrex.
