Intacept (Etanercept 25mg Injection) is a prescription medication used to treat various inflammatory conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and plaque psoriasis.
Composition:
Each 0.5 mL injection of Intacept contains 25mg of etanercept, a recombinant human tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor fusion protein. The injectable solution is sterile and preservative-free.
Mechanism of Action:
Intacept works by binding to TNF-alpha, a protein that plays a key role in the development of inflammation and joint damage in rheumatoid arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. By blocking TNF-alpha, Intacept reduces the production of inflammatory cytokines and slows the progression of joint damage.
