Indications:
Irnocam is indicated for the treatment of:
- Colorectal cancer in combination with fluorouracil and leucovorin
- Lung cancer in combination with carboplatin and cisplatin
- Breast cancer in combination with docetaxel and fluorouracil
Mechanism of Action:
Irinotecan works by:
- Inhibiting the activity of topoisomerase I, which helps to repair DNA damage in cancer cells
- Preventing the repair of DNA damage caused by chemotherapy
- Inducing apoptosis (cell death) in cancer cells
Dosage and Administration:
The recommended dosage of Irnocam is:
- 100mg injected intravenously over 90 minutes every 3 weeks

Side Effects:

- Neutropenia and febrile neutropenia

- Pulmonary toxicity (including interstitial pneumonitis)

Contraindications:
Irnocam is contraindicated in patients with:
- Hypersensitivity to Irinotecan or other topoisomerase I inhibitors
- Severe liver disease
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Precautions:
- Patients with a history of liver disease should be closely monitored while receiving Irnocam.
- Patients with a history of cardiac disease should be closely monitored while receiving Irnocam.
- Patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders should be closely monitored while receiving Irnocam.
Patient Counseling:
- Patients should be counseled on the importance of taking their medication as directed and not missing doses.
- Patients should be instructed to report any signs of nausea or vomiting.
- Patients should be advised to report any changes in their appetite or weight loss.
Storage and Handling:
- Store at room temperature (20°C to 25°C) and protected from light.
- Do not freeze or expose to direct sunlight.
- Use within 24 months of opening.
