Composition: Epiduo Forte Gel is a topical medication that combines two active ingredients:

• Adapalene (0.3% w/w): A third-generation topical retinoid that helps to normalize skin cell turnover and reduce acne formation.
• Benzoyl Peroxide (2.5% w/w): An antibacterial agent that helps to reduce the presence of acne-causing bacteria and has mild drying effects to help clear the skin.

Mechanism of Action:

• Adapalene: Works by modulating skin cell proliferation and differentiation, thereby preventing the formation of microcomedones (the precursors to acne). It also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce redness and swelling associated with acne.
• Benzoyl Peroxide: Functions as a keratolytic and antibacterial agent. It penetrates the skin to kill Propionibacterium acnes (the bacteria implicated in acne) and reduces excess sebum, helping to unclog pores.

Dosage:

• Apply a thin layer of Epiduo Forte Gel to the affected areas once daily, preferably in the evening after washing and patting the skin dry.
• Use as directed by a healthcare professional. Avoid applying excessive amounts to minimize the risk of irritation.

Usage:

• Epiduo Forte Gel is indicated for the topical treatment of acne vulgaris in patients aged 12 years and older.
