Peroclin 5%

Peroclin is a topical gel that combines the antibacterial properties of Clindamycin with the comedolytic properties of Benzoyl Peroxide to treat acne and reduce inflammation. It is used to treat mild to moderate acne, including:

• Acne papules
• Acne pustules
• Acne nodules
• Blackheads
• Whiteheads

Composition:

1. Clindamycin (5%): a topical antibiotic that helps to kill bacteria that cause acne, such as Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes).
2. Benzoyl Peroxide (5%): a topical medication that helps to unclog pores, reduce inflammation, and prevent future breakouts.

Mechanism of Action:

• Clindamycin works by inhibiting the growth of bacteria that cause acne, thereby reducing the severity of acne lesions.
• Benzoyl Peroxide works by:
  • Unclogging pores by breaking down blackheads and whiteheads
  • Reducing inflammation and preventing future breakouts
  • Helping to reduce the formation of comedones (blackheads and whiteheads)

Dosage: Apply a thin layer of Peroclin to the affected area 1-2 times a day, or as directed by your doctor.

Uses: Peroclin is used to treat mild to moderate acne in adults and children over 12 years old.
