Tenovate GN Cream
Composition:
- Betamethasone (0.1% w/w)Â – A potent corticosteroid that helps reduce inflammation, redness, and itching.
- Gentamicin (0.1% w/w)Â – An antibiotic that kills or inhibits the growth of bacteria, helping to treat infections.
- Miconazole (2% w/w)Â – An antifungal that is effective against a range of fungal infections by inhibiting fungal cell membrane synthesis.
Mechanism of Action:
- Betamethasone: Works by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators, decreasing the inflammatory response, and suppressing the immune system’s response that contributes to inflammation and itching.
- Gentamicin: Binds to bacterial ribosomes, inhibiting protein synthesis, which is essential for bacterial growth and replication. Effective against certain gram-negative and some gram-positive bacteria.
- Miconazole: Disrupts the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes, leading to increased permeability and cell death.
