Tenovate NM Cream
Composition:
- Clobetasol Propionate: 0.05% w/w (A potent topical corticosteroid)
- Miconazole: 2% w/w (An antifungal agent)
- Neomycin: 0.5% w/w (An antibiotic)
Mechanism of Action:
- Clobetasol Propionate: Works by reducing inflammation, redness, and itchiness of the skin. It does this by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators and suppressing the immune response in skin cells.
- Miconazole: Acts by disrupting the cell membrane of fungi, leading to cell death. It interferes with the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes.
- Neomycin: An aminoglycoside antibiotic that inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit, leading to cell death.
Dosage:
- Apply a thin layer of Tenovate NM Cream to the affected area(s) of the skin once or twice daily as directed by a healthcare professional.
- Do not apply more than recommended to avoid potential side effects.
Usage:
- Used for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions that are complicated by bacterial or fungal infections, such as eczema, dermatitis, or psoriasis with superinfection.
