Tyza M is a topical gel that combines mometasone and terbinafine to provide relief from itching, inflammation, and fungal infections of the skin.
Composition:
- Mometasone (0.1% w/w): a corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and itching
- Terbinafine (1% w/w): an antifungal agent that helps to treat fungal infections of the skin
Mechanism of Action: Mometasone works by reducing the production of inflammatory chemicals in the skin, which helps to alleviate inflammation and itching. Terbinafine works by inhibiting the production of ergosterol, a key component of fungal cell membranes, which helps to disrupt fungal growth and prevent infection.
Usage: Tyza M is indicated for the treatment of: + Mild to moderate inflammatory skin conditions, such as eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis + Fungal infections of the skin, such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm
Dosage: Apply a thin layer of Tyza M to the affected area up to 2 times a day, or as directed by your doctor.
Recommendation: Tyza M should be used for short periods of time (up to 7-10 days) due to the risk of skin atrophy and adrenal suppression. If symptoms persist or worsen, consult your doctor.
Important Note:
- Avoid using Tyza M on broken or irritated skin.
- Do not use Tyza M on the face, scalp, or groin area unless directed by your doctor.
- If you have a history of allergies or are sensitive to corticosteroids or other ingredients, consult your doctor before using Tyza M.
- If you experience any side effects, such as skin thinning, stretch marks, or acne-like rash, discontinue use and consult your doctor.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Do not use Tyza M on deep or puncture wounds, open sores, or if you have a weakened immune system.
It’s also important to note that Tyza M should not be used in combination with other topical corticosteroids or antifungal agents without consulting your doctor.
