Dosage & Administration

  • Standard Dose: 1 mg once daily (for lamivudine-resistant or HIV-coinfected patients)

  • Empty Stomach: Take at least 2 hours before or after meals for best absorption.

  • Missed Dose: Take as soon as remembered, but skip if close to next dose.

  • Do NOT stop abruptly → Risk of severe HBV flare-up!


Side Effects

Common (Usually Mild):

  • Headache, dizziness

  • Fatigue

  • Mild nausea, diarrhea

Serious (Seek Medical Help):

  • Lactic acidosis (muscle pain, rapid breathing, weakness)
